LESSON 2

Collaborate: Rakuten staff needs

As a consequence of the initiative by Rakuten to adopt English as its corporate language, its Japanese employees now have to communicate on a day-by-day basis in English rather than in Japanese. Therefore, instead of communicating on the telephone in Japanese, they now have to do so in English.

What other forms of spoken and written communication both internal, within the company, and external, with overseas clients and partners, do these employees now have to carry out in English?
