LESSON 3

Collaborate: Varieties of ESP courses

Think about the large number of published resources currently available which are generic, industry-specific and skills-specific. Follow these steps to complete the task.

  1. Create a resource reference bank. This resource reference bank will consist of three categories: generic, industry-specific and skills-specific.
  2. Visit the following publisher websites:
    Cambridge University Press
    Oxford University Press
    Pearson Longman
    Professional English Online
  3. Choose an ESP title from one of the above websites, for example English for Football (OUP).
  4. Add the title to the appropriate category, for example, in this case, industry-specific.
  5. Repeat the process. Add at least three titles.
